true, i'm sure she got a lot of help writing those songs on LG. at least, let's hope--if her songwriting ability declined THAT immensely, that'd be a shame haha
i'm just saying--do you consider Rock 'n Roll, Here's To Never Growing Up, Bitchin' Summer, Bad Girl, Hello Kitty, You Ain't Seen Nothin' Yet, and Sippin' On Sunshine educated or credible? i totally get that artists are allowed to have fun songs and songs that aren't deep or emotional. buuuuuuuut seriously? more than half of the album is about ********. what's with that serious album cover? it doesn't make ANY sense, it's the weirdest album. it makes no sense, it's mixmatched.
17 is a fun song that has some credible depth to it. Let Me Go, yeah, i dig. GYWYL is a song purely about sex, but it has some good lyrics and its sound isn't ridiculous. Hello Heartache and Hush Hush, i'm fairly certain, are from GL, because who else would she be singing about in terms of a breakup? why is she still singing about him? like, they're well written songs and more mature, but why is Hush Hush the closing track on this album--a song about a divorce that was over, especially considering she wrote an entire album about it already?
idk why Goodbye, Lullaby is so underrated. it has her best lyrics since LG, and there are only two songs with no depth/emotion--WTH (which, ok, fine, one song about being young forever, it's fun and cool) and Smile, which is still pretty relateable even if it's fun.
i'm not hating on avril, she has a great voice and i've loved her since her first album. but she's a grown woman, and her fifth album is a disgrace. i hope she'll be able to make a sixth album that redeems for the steaming pile of **** that is AL.
LG and GL are her best albums imo

Oh I agree with you about the album cover. That's just Avril trying to fool herself. But I think that itself kinda proves the point. Avril isn't a serious or credible artist. She isn't clever or thoughtful enough to be. She doesn't think through anything. She can write a catchy pop tune and the occasional amazing ballad (which she will then proceed to ignore for the rest of her career) and that's about it. AL is a solid pop album, but Avril didn't plan it out and it shows.
She needs to surround herself with real artists / performers and actually become aware of the music scene around her at present. She's so clueless and uninspired.
And yes, GL is definitely a fantastic album, bar What the Hell (purely because it was just tacked on with no thought of how it would affect the cohesiveness of the album) and Everybody Hurts (generic and bland to the point of pain).

i agree, i agree. i just don't even think AL is a good pop album. every single song has at least 1-2 lines of horrible lyrics (most have a lot of horrible lyrics), and the album is so uninspired. it's everywhere. i get that people want diversity to please everyone, but there's NO cohesion--thematically, sonically, etc. it's a terrible, terrible album, imo. TBDT even had more cohesion.
i agree with what you said about GL. EH is a basic song, but i think it sounds good, just wish it'd had different lyrics. WTH is a jam--it technically fits on the record (it's like the fun breakup song, i don't need you anymore...like Funhouse's So What).

Okay, I'm revisiting this album. I've just accepted it for what it is, like Britney Jean, there is nothing groundbreaking or new on this album. After accepting that, I can appreciate the bops.
Bitchin' Summer is going to be my **** this summer. Also falling for You Ain't Seen Nothin, Sippin', Falling Fast & Hush.
I was already in love with 17 & Rock N' Roll so now I can say I like this album. GL is still 18398582803x superior, but this will do.

AL ain't great but it will never be as big of a letdown as Britney Jean. I will NEVER get over how that album disappointed me every DAY I think about it and get upset all over again even as I type I can feel the emotions welling up inside me again. But let's not get into that.
I agree with your fave tracks on AL. I also stan for Bad Girl and Hello Kitty.

Actually in my opinion "Bad Girl" is a sound she never did before. Kudos to her for that.
Also "Hello Kitty", but I am not proud about that track at all.

Wow! Actually Britney Jean did not disappoint me at all and I thought it would disappoint me big time after Work Bitch & Perfume. It is obviously not personal - like it was advertized by her but I REALLY like some of the album tracks. Her vocals are weak on most of them tho.
So I won't fetch a WP for off topic...where is AL on iTunes right now?

Shocker.
I am mad as hell they think we're stupid enough to buy that it's some personal album, and I'm madder at her for going along with it. At least when she was on her meds it was apparent how un-invested she was, now she's trying to trick us as well and I am not about that.

I mean
I don't use any of the songs on the album except Alien, Work Bitch, Perfume, Tik Tik Boom and sometimes Brightest Morning Star. And I've loved basically every song of her past albums at some point or another.
AL is currently charting in the top 200 of iTunes.

Actually the only thing people talked about this album was Bad Girl on Turkish forums. And it did very well on Canadian iTunes too. If there will be a single; it must be Bad Girl / GYWYL...

i agree with you about everything but GL. GL was really disappointing and only good songs were singles & Everybody Hurts. Others were only decent. AL has like 6-7 good songs.
And the album cover were shooted in last summer. When did she work with Martin Johnson?Maybe she did album artworks before working with him and didn't want to change them later she should've tho
