Just pointing out that Venus was originally supposed to be the second single, which would have TANKED even harder than Unconditionally AND Do What U Want. It'd have been lucky to even hit the Top 20.

DWUW flopping is way worse than Unconditionally flopping. DWUW is pretty much the best single from ARTPOP. Unconditionally is one of the most boring songs on PRISM.

LOL that's the point Gaga wanted Venus, but her team switched it to Do What U Want when they saw how well it was doing on iTunes and could foresee the disaster which would happen if Venus became the real second single. If you think that Gaga WANTED to change to Do What U Want, then you're crazy. She put so much effort into live performances of Venus and literally nothing into Do What U Want initially.

Katy's made lots of decisions, so I'm not sure what you're on about? But yeah, her personal attachment to Unconditionally got in the way of seeing that Dark Horse should have smashed.

Gaga and Katy were in the same situation, essentially... Gaga wanted Venus, but the obvious choice was Do What U Want. Katy wanted Unconditionally, but the obvious choice was Dark Horse. We know what happened. Katy got her way, Gaga didn't. The real kii here though is that Katy's WORSE choice is performing similarly to Gaga's BETTER choice... can you imagine if Dark Horse and Venus, or even Unconditionally and Venus, had been released?

And lets not get too excited with Dark Horse, we know that it's slaying in the US but WW is another histoRIH. To put things into perspective, Unconditionally is still a bigger "hit " that Dark Horse right now WW and DH was kinda performed in Germany and it did nothing for the song.
