People always assume pledging a Fraternity or Sorority means you're paying to have friends (plenty of my friends have told me this); in my case, I was cool with pretty much all of my fraternity brothers before I pledged therefore they asked me to pledge because I was a good fit. One of the best decisions I've ever made...

A lot of times you'll get rejected because they don't know you which pretty much clarifies that you have to already have established some type of friendship with many of them prior to even pledging.
