It's not really about demand, it just had to be newsworthy enough for it to go viral. Pepcé her release was newsworthy because

- first major star to release unannounced
- first major star to release digital-only
- a very impressive package with 17 videos
- people already expected an album at the beginning of the year and the (unconfirmed, unofficial) delays already had people buzzing

All of this made for a brilliant launch, and it can never be done again, not by Pepcé or anyone else. It could have been done by many others, if they had crafted similar circumstances. But now it's too late.

Gaga isn't smart. Hardworking and ambitious, sure...but the truly intelligent never get too big for the people that made them who they are.

Say what you want about Britney, Beyonce, Madonna, etc., but even after becoming superstars, they mostly stuck firm with the teams that made them who they were. Gaga's dumped everyone who made her special. Now she's just an ugly girl with halloween costumes.
