Discussion: Why can't you stan 4 [Rihanna]..?

The thing I love about Rihanna is that it's obvious she has yet to play all of her cards. Even with all of her success thus far we know she is still capable of growing as an artist. She is able to constantly reinvent her image and her sound and she crosses between music genres effortlessly so her music has diversity. Many pop girls can't actually do this, so that's probably one of her biggest artistic talents and why she has remained a pop force for so long.
While people will attempt to throw the stalest of shade and claim that Rihanna needs hits and yearly album releases to stay relevant, that wouldn't actually make sense because with the GP constantly bombarded with new Rihanna music every year she would be "overexposed". And yet after 6 consecutive platinum albums with only 2 eras given any substantial promotional effort compared to her contemporaries, it's obvious that boys, girls, men, women and children, are ready and willing to come running with their coins each and every single year, proving her power.
Her personality is relatable since she doesn't pretend to be perfect. She acknowledges that she is young and flawed just like most of us are. She owns up to her mistakes, but refuses to let the opinions of others define her. She is humble and loves her fans but she will #clapback when she needs to defend herself. She doesn't force her political views on anyone because she recognizes that we are all different and she is merely a pop star, not a social activist.
What I've just described is nothing less than a queen
I could never not stan for the icon, Rihanna.

You are disgusting joking about victims of domestic violence like that.
That's all I'm gonna say about your meltdown.

But Rihanna is the one who made a joke of it.
She's the one who didn't take a stand and prevent other young girls from making bad choices.
She's also the one who went back to the man, for whatever reason (a song, love, attention, etc), and then left him. That's why many people, not "pressed" Bey stans feel this way. That's all.

She practically has everything but the ability to deliver performances that an icon should. She doesn't seem to have the drive that great performers have. That IT factor.

She didn´t sign up to be a role model.
It´s her life, let her make her own decisions.
Do you realize that it takes about 7-8 times for an abused woman to leave her abuser?
Like all of this has been easy for her, the entire world laughing at her bruised face as it was all over the internet.
You and Kiddo talking about it like she's a dirty sewer rat disgusts me. She's still a human being, and the fact y'all posted this crap shows me a lot about you two. I'm not gonna lower myself to your level but karma will come around one day

I semi stan, but I can't fully do it because she only has 3 good albums (her most recent) and did not become great until the year 2010. I would feel like a faux-stan if I ignored half of her career.

Her music isn't good enough. And because of her as a person.

A lot of things that should have happened (and usually do) to an artist in 8 years have not happened with Rihanna. Most notable is improvement.
She has yet to wow or ensnare me completely with a single performance.

She's unoriginal, can't write, can't dance, and worst of all can't sing. "But she has 13 #1's!!11!" ok? and? She's released 50 singles in 7 years, she was bound to get at least 2 #1's, yet she still can't sell albums

You're insecure about your fave and have a grand lack of maturity.
This is why I don't stan for Beyoncé.

She has said countless times that she's human, she makes mistakes, she cries, etc. Her falling down stairs went viral. She including a clip of herself falling flat on her face as a child in her album. She is notoriously private though so it makes sense that she would only put forth to the public what she needs to. I actually think this is more commendable and smarter, but to each their own.

The irony.

shes my favorite pop girl (besides p!nk of course) and i bop to her music all the time. she has an swesome voice on record and i actually like her personality. i do like her. i really do.
however, shes not a good singer live and she cant even dance/perform that great to make up for it. ive legitimately cringed at some of her performances

I honestly love the girl. Love her attitude, love her singles, love her fashion and her vocals for the Stay and Diamonds era were on point. I could stan for her, but I guess the thing stopping me is that I see very little input in her albums, I view her as a puppet that is controlled for money only. She has little control of her career.
I never bought an album of hers either. IDK really.

But she does walk like Rihanna

But they can do other things. The point of his post was that she can't do anything. (Not that I agree.)

She has amazing songs and she's beyond beautiful. In fact, before 2009, she definitely would've been stanworthy at that point. But, the abandonment of her original genre, then her very catty and bitchy attitude... to me, I can't stan for an artist who can't show tact and stay true to themselves.

Oh. Hm. I thought he was saying that the fact that she didn't write her own music made her inherently unstannable. Well then. Carry on.
