Why is it always the Rihanna, Gaga, and Britney saying Beyonce's music is boring or subpar?

I love when they use the 'I don't like R&B excuse'. Her music is very pop, just because she's black doesn't make it R&B.

It's always excuses like "she's boring" or "I can't relate to her". I guess Beyonce's music would sound better if she shaved her head, snapped at people on Instagram and got dressed up in kooky outfits to go to the corner store. Personally, I like Beyonce for her work, not for her. Any positivity I feel about her character or personality is simply a bonus. At the end of the day, Beyonce as a person may not be so thrilling, but Sasha Fierce is about 1000x more compelling than anyone else.

Beyonce makes great music and is an awesome performer but I can't connect with her on that level. Maybe its the perception of perfection she has created among her fans and the media that turns me off. Honestly I Stan more for her when she's a part of DC3.

I don't stan for her because
- There is something about her that I find very 'fake', I feel like she doesn't portray her true self.
- I'm not really a fan of her music, however I think 4 was a good album.

Lady Gaga
- Her music really isn't my taste, she has a great voice so I don't really understand why she uses all of the gimmicks.

And it's the same for all the other artists I don't like/stan for its basically down to my taste in music.

I agree with your last point. I liked her, but I really started to respect her highly as an artist after 4 came out. The new album shows it wasn't just a phase or chance.

I don't stan for Beyonce because i haven't seen her sincerity and realness yet. I also think she's a bit overrated. But i do like her music and her image of empowerment.

When it comes to saying when an artist is perceived to be "real" what it comes down to, to me, is the marketing behind them. For example, artists are always promoting albums as "the real me" and it's obvious that these things are just marketing ploys.

Now when it comes to performances I know that is a matter of opinion but her performances are continually perfect. Her worst is better than some's best and to question her fashion sense is ridiculous too when she's continually on best dressed lists .

I don't look at the marketing. I watch interviews and look at the person's actions. It's really obvious that Unapologetic is Rihanna's most personal album and she is by far the most genuine artist in the industry, which is exemplified in her interview with Oprah. Angelina working with the UN is certainly not a marketing ploy, she has a heart of gold and is extremely charitable and honest

Beyonce is also not a fashion icon like Madonna and Rihanna

I think in many ways the Bey Hive sort of represents Beyonce and what it means to like and support Beyonce. It's not uncommon to be turned completely off from a person because of the people that represent them.

People are allowed to have opinions that differ from yours. Their favourite artist is really quite irrelevant.

Or some people just find her personality boring? The whole I'm so perfect attitude is a little off putting honestly. Almost everything she does seems extremely calculated. As a business woman that is respectable, as a regular human being not so much.

That mentality is hypocritical because every fan base has their crazy members who are needlessly shady and I think you are well aware that the Navy is not exempt from this. I understand that it would be hard to start liking someone after encountering a lot of their crazier fans, but it's unfair to turn a blind eye to your own base's indiscretions.

4 was really the turning point for me as far as becoming a fan. How can you not love the woman who made "End of Time"? This last record simply served to elevate her to stanning status with me.
