Gaga done ruined her career with her silliness. Some people do better with smaller budgets.
I agree The Fame was ARTPOP. She knew she wasn't 'pretty' enough to be a huge megastar, so she gave herself a makeover with fake tan, blonde wig, fake lashes, sunglasses and got herself an iconic look and a bitchy mysterious persona to get 'the fame' anyway and she got it. It was perfectly executed.

While i feel the media are practically bullying Larry to commit, he's brought much of this on himself. The whole '10 debacle with Perez and Christina, acquiring a new illness each month to promote a song or function he was appearing at, and the whole "i'm not talking to the media!!" stunt last year after being buttwhooped by ADELE.

She did her wardrobe with Applause, but threw all of the dedication out with Venus. And obviously her ambition to make an in-you-face, bold statement doesn't help.
