. WOW! All the pop girls who spent so much money, time and energy on huge promo; marketing blitzes that made sure every man, woman and child knew they had an album coming out and didn't pass 300K. And Beyonce just dumps her album on iTunes and annihilates them all. A year of lacklustre sales for female artists and she does this? Numerous articles about the decline of the album and she does this?
Not to mention, Beyonce is an artist who is past 30, past her It Girl peak. I mean this as no shade; I love Bey, but everybody has their time of being the hottest thing and then the world gives younger, newer stars that kind of attention. I knew she'd always be successful, but after 4 albums, marriage and a kid, I did not think it was possible for her to really cause so much excitement again. I should never underestimate this queen.
