ddd @ Bey having no single material on this album. Maybe white ppl will like XO, but it's not that good. People wont buy it soley cos it's Bey. Only 1D could get away with that
Why does it matter? The whole album is out at this point and she knew what she was doing.
A single material song can only do so much. Oh, and thank god for no "single material". All it means is unnecessary filler.
Blue is a beautiful song for her daughter that concludes the album in such a pure, joyous way. It really ties the entire record together, serving to show us ALL of Beyoncé. The final outro with Blue saying "Beyoncé! Mommy! Mrs. Carter!" is literally the most perfect way to wrap the album up.
Pretty Hurts is a flawless album opener. It sounds like a song you'd expect from Beyoncé, but then you listen to the lyrics and realize exactly what she's critiquing. She's critiquing the industry, she's critiquing the media, and she's critiquing society. This album is not what anyone expected from Beyoncé. This song serves as the first glimpse of what this album will truly be, and is later explicitly defined in the next song Haunted.
Neither songs are filler. They both have purpose on the album, as does every song on the album. But you tried a bit.
For those who wanted to have the intros separate to the actual tracks. Saw this on TBH.com
