Foxes vocals don't really make or break the song for me.

Right? I don't really agree, but I really don't get the BTW hate. Sure the cover and the videos and the controversy were tiresome, but that's context man. You need to care about the music and the music only. BTW has got some great pop experimentation and it fuses 90s industrial music, 80s arena rock and 00s electropop sounds quite nicely. It wasn't the album of the decade, but it was the album made for this decade.

I really think the stuff on that album is on par with BR, Alejandro, DitD and SHICD.
