PS: The confusion you may have about both songs selling similar in US its because you probaby saw only the 2013 sales of "S&S" (or the list of the highest selling songs of 2013) - Remember "Scream and shout" was actually released in 2012 (not in 2013) and a part of its sales come from 2012. it slayed the charts both in 2012 and 2013.

Personally I think will.i.am helped to sell Scream & Shout way more than a lot of Britney fans gave him credit for. I say this because when Britney Jean was first released to iTunes, their collaboration was the next highest selling after Perfume, even though most of Britney's fans called that track "crap."

Nah, it's not the same at all. "Say Something" had been released as a solo for months before Christina got involved. And in that time, it only sold 52,000 copies despite being featured on television and having some HAC airplay. It wasn't really going anywhere until Christina got involved. Plus, people have the option to buy the solo, but the duet is more popular.

I even give credit to Xtina on "Feel this moment" , but on "Moves like Jagger" she barely sang, that was 95% Maroon 5 and it didn't helped Xtina's career at all just after that her album "Lotus" flopped worse than "Bionic".

We Remain will be performed on The Voice as a duet with Christina's remaining contestant this upcoming week. I think it's doing pretty good for a song that didn't have a radio deal or video like Britney's Ooh La La. (which is what we should be comparing it to)

If the song took off, was because they were able to perform it at "The Voice" and people liked it. Xtina was a non-factor on that. I mean I heard they performed the song recently on Victoria's secret show without Xtina being present

Call me when Xtina does a concert again and find top 10 hits as a solo artist by her own, or a radio hit as lead artist , etc and I'll give her credit.

the truth is that I haven't seen anything successful from herself as a solo act since the "B2B" era. and you know its truth.

We Remain wasn't released as a single to radio especially pop radio. Compare that to Ooh La La which was promoted to three formats with a radio deal and still flopped

We Remained wasn't performed once, and it didn't get payola for radio so it has practically zero airplay.
when Xtina performed Say Something the first time on The Voice, it shot to #1 on iTunes. Legend X, her power.

does britney performing her songs benefit her sales in the same way? Would Work Bitch have reached as high as #12 on BB Hot 100 if she performed that song?

a feature is a feature. Xtina is featured in MLJ and britney is featured in S&S

Xtina didn't care about Lotus. britney doesn't care about BJ and it's flopping just as hard.

but at least Say Something proves that Xtina is still in the game. what hope does Britney have if/when her Vegas shows turns out to be a disaster critically and commercially?

"Say Something" as a solo was already used on television months before Christina got involved though; So You Think You Can Dance to give an example. And the duet remains #1 on iTunes despite AGBW recently performing the song solo on Victoria's Secret. Sorry, all the evidence points to Christina giving the song relevance in the mainstream.

As for Christina's solo hits. She had one after the Back To Basics era with Keeps Gettin' Better which is a platinum, Top 10 selling hit. The information you're posting is proving to be somewhat unreliable.

Also You Lost Me was not on sale during the Idol performance. Usually when you perform something it makes sense to put the song on sale, but it wasn't so you can't hold that against it

Nop, "Keeps getting better" is not a hit, it took 4 years to hit 1million (in 2012), and just spent one week inside top 10 on billboard hot 100 , it bombed everywhere outside USA. (#26 Australia, #14 UK, Out of the French chart, etc ,etc etc).

don't try to justify anything, it was painful seeing her doing MASSIVE PROMOTION across all America for weeks in countless shows just to get a cancelled tour.
