The only single I'd be afraid of underperforming a la Unconditionally is Walking On Air, since it may seem outdated as a single by that time (summer 2014). if it underperforms midway through its chart run, emergency release This Is How We Do & cancel it as summer 2015 single, so it would just end after Birthday in that case.
WoA deserves a release though, and rather sooner than later.
The only way Dark Horse could possibly last until April is if it becomes the biggest digital song of all time. It has already sold a Million, it only has 3 more to go before everyone who normally buys Katy songs has bought it.
