Beyonce's production overshadowed everything. '4' was the perfect mix. The album is still good. I think I need another few listens to rate it fairly but as for my initial reaction, this is it. The album has the majestic drive but it was stretched too long that when I was listening to a little over half the album it already started sounding like one long track, though this can really be positively turned into the cohesiveness of the album. Through the end from Flawless down was great (except for the last track).
As a casual fan of Beyonce's
music, this review is clearly from my own perspective.
And if I'm comparing the ATRL girls' release, I'd place 'Beyonce' second to 'Britney Jean'. No biblios please since I have always preferred Britney's music from Beyonce's although the last time they were pitted against eachother, Beyonce won my ears.
