Whitney's albums are all dragged critically. She was not involved in any of her work. For goodness sake, her most popular and iconic song is a ****ing cover.
She had 0 songwriting ability.
0 creativity.
0 production ability.
0 involvement in her career.
Clive Davis controlled all the strings, milked her, bled her dry, and then tossed her to the dogs once the $$$ dried up. Didn't really give a **** about her being cracked out.
Give me a break. Whitney is soooo overrated, especially considering the things ATRL loves to drag some of the current girls for.
& yet Whitney is so beloved simply because of her voice. This gives me hope for Beyoncé to become timeless.
No one had any respect for Whitney in the decade preceding her death. Let's not give revisionist history now.
The stupid bitch was nothing more than a joke. For all the **** that is talked about Madonna in the media, she's never been lashed as hard as Whitney did in the lead-up years to her death.
Everyone is loved more once they're in the ground.
first of all, out of everything I wrote that's all you felt the need to respond with?
second of all, all I see is a graphic with no real receipts.
thirdly, even if those stats were 100% accurate, it's not ALWAYS the case. where are the stats calculating how many convicted felons get jobs at all? or if those white convicts got the job after the call back? maybe a black successful bachelor from college came in and swooped that job up?
those stats don't exist because you cling to what you can to hold as a grudge and an excuse.
you still didn't answer anything I originally wrote about.
i can't be bothered to give u an actual response because ur caping for white ppl is literally churning my stomach. if there's one thing white ppl do not need, it is someone standing up for their rights or the injustices they face.
yes there are blk ppl richer than certain white ppl. yes there are blk ppl with more opps than white ppl. like i said, for a double standard to exist both parties have to be born on equal footing.
a poor white person won't have as much as a rich blk person but a poor blk person born into the exact same situation as the poor white person will have even LESS opps than both parties. that is where the double standard exists. ofc there are times when that general situation cannot be applied and be 100% true 100% of the time, but the research stats are overwhelming when it comes to white ppl getting more out of life than a blk person in the same situation. thus, a double standard. one or 2 exceptions to a rule do not disprove said rule - i mean, c'mon now - let's use common sense.
Whitney is arguably one of the best singers of all time though. She could also dance (though she almost never did) & she was very pretty. Despite no creative input, she obviously had talent. It's not like she was Rihanna.

I'm not saying that all. I know that, I'm praising my race and just saying Black Popstars > White ones. Most of them (whites) are gimmick, fads and have suck/dated music.
No ****. Because like I said, to get on equal footing with the whites in the industry a black people cannot get away with as many GLARING holes in their craft as an artist.
They actually have to have some substance and a modicum of talent. It does not necessarily mean that they will be more remembered, though.

And IDK who mentioned Janet because that was a terrible example. A black woman did something controversial and her career was pretty much ruined.
Britney did that **** on the daily and it ended up being part of her iconic moments.
hmm. Maybe because Janet's controversy was seen as a desperate publicity ploy that backfired in front of 100 million people? and Britney's were caused by emotional trauma and mental conditions?
Comparing exposing a boob on national television's grand event for the ~*controversy*~ to a mental breakdown is seriously effed up.
Madonna cracked Whitney a long time ago. Let it go and get over it.
Whitney could never. All the drags about minimal career involvement, being a puppet, not writing/producing ANY of your own material, being a slave, and most of the drags applied to Katy and sometimes Rihanna all can apply to Whitney.
If Whitney existed in today's market, she'd be another "singles artist" that everyone loves to drag. The only difference is she had talent for a very short portion of her courier before she lost her vocal range.
I have nothing to let go or get over, lol.
I simply stated the truth. Whitney at her peak was everything Madonna wished she could've been.
