Then Black Beauty leaked (it matches what she described tbh) and then she got pretty upset.
I think she said something like she usually think of a concept/whole album based on one song (Black Beauty), but after it leaked she got discouraged.
Now we got an album title that does not match up with the description she gave us.
Also, Black Beauty is also a book.
And Ultraviolence is reference to another book.

It can be still spiritual and somehow acoustic. Maybe the reference "ultraviolence" is metaphor for that extra emotion, passion, vigour.
In Bel Air she sings:
Spotlight, Bad Baby
You’ve got a flair
For the violentest kind of love anywhere out there
Mon amour, sweet child of mine, you’re divine
Didn’t anyone ever tell you it’s ok to shine?
I can imagine Ultraviolence album filled with Black Beauty, Yayo, Ride, Cola songs very well. A little bit of soft-grunge and rock influence, but still dreamy.

And wasnt that twitter account tweeting info about Tropico too ? It said false information about important role of the snake and that Bel Air would be the second song in tropico.
|
I also got the impression that she just had started working on it, like a theme or a working title.
Maybe she will include something she has written before we have not heard so far, but it sounds like she wanted to tell us, that the work has begun for something new. I also doubt that she almost finished it.
Where is her post where she tweeted about Ultraviolence for the first time? It sounded like, ok: this BTD-P chapter is over, I am starting to work on something new.

I read all the tweets, there werent any tweets about Bel Air being the second song, I'm not saying it was 100% reliable source but I just wanted to point out the equivalence of what PJ said and this twitter posted!!

Yeah she has always concepts in her mind before actual doing sth. She is not that artist that record s 60 various songs just to choose a few of them for an album and give it the final form and mutual concept. Tropico was mentioned in Paradise trailer, way before actual shooting or even release of the album.

Then it was a different twitter account who provided us "facts" about Tropico way before the release. I kinda dont trust it anymore. And it can be changed anytime anyway .

Judging by what people have said here, this sounds awful. She needs to add tempo and interesting hooks to her music not dull songs like cola or black beauty

THIS.
Tropico was mentioned in November 2012 when she uploaded Bel Air to her account, since then she had this mini movie thing on her mind!!
and she's been going to studios while she was on tour in Europe, so we don't know what she's been doing!!

Yeah, but with actual superior production. I would die to hear Rick Rubin´s production of that song.

Aren't you a passionate Lana del Rey hater anyway? It doesn't matter what she releases, you will end up hating her anyway.

Black Beauty is just demo. It will be more vigorous with the right production. I agree Cola could be better. The quality of most songs in Paradise EP is decreased by the production. You can hear the production difference between the superior Ride and the deaden Cola.

Ultraviolent (Peace Edition)
I doubt we will get a re-release with this album. Universal was just aware she had tons of material and if she writes new, she will do it quickly, so they wanted to capitalize on it. As far as I remember she wasn't really too keen on the idea of a re-release.

The Cola is epic for its vocals and lyrics for me. Cant you hear that unreadable, unclear and kinda deaden production ? I dont like it when its this way.
