i don't understand why "no promo" is used as an excuse.

it's the artist's and the label's fault for not properly promoting the album, and so the sales lack. so "no promo" is just as much of a fault as lack of star power etc....

It's not very hard to understand. When a person's career becomes unreceptive to promo (i.e. not gaining sales after major performances, etc.) that's when it's generally considered that the GP no longer cares for them. That's why Bionic was such a big deal (on top of the fact that it was the first album Christina released since the Fighters trolled Britney during her breakdown and said Christina was going to surpass Britney's sales after BTB); Christina performed on ALL of the biggest promotional platforms available and still only sold 110k.

Do you really think it's more impressive to debut low with a ton of performances or with none at all?

It's weird that people are saying Britney had no promo even though she clearly had tons which you can't escape. Radio's 1 of the best promo sources out there. They even played the whole album on iHeart Radio stations. Everyone knows the album's out.

Were talking about big promo such as performing an an award show, morning show, late show, etc. radio interviews will sell like 10 copies lol

they did not play the whole album, they played like 4 songs and it was at 9 pm.. it's not like gaga & katy where they played their whole albums throughout the DAY.

You never fail to make me laugh. There's no better promo than performing and we all know it truly is the strongest form of promotion by a landslide. I don't know if the Britney Army personally hurt you over the Bionic Massacre or what, but could you please reserve your delusions for an Army member that's at least anti-Christina? I'm one of the 311k who bought Bionic. You should be thanking me, not trolling me.

As for radio support, she hasn't even had a top 10 on Pop and is pretty much being ignored on every format. The fact that she's pulling 115k off of her name alone is amazing.

radio promo is way better than tv promos.
radio is directly to your target market while tv is just to GP.

that's why only few gets good boost from tv performances. and britney won't get that.
and TV promo is very short term, mostly 1week.
also If you don't have radio support, the songs, album will still dying.

some of you overestimate tv promos. just check weekly tv performances and their chart stats.

post-Blackout she just isn't interested in it anymore. pre-Blackout she had that fire and the drive to go out and work and promote to be the most successful

How much radio support did the Eagles have in 2007? 115k isn't an amazing number for anyone who is established, has a resume of past big success and is having their new music released by a major label. The way Britney fans love to insist that she's some kind of icon or legend who is forever relevant, her name should be enough to do at least pull off the same kind of numbers JT did with the second installment of his album. There's no way to dress these numbers up. Just accept that they're all around bad. Doesn't matter that this is her eighth album, that she's not promoting or isn't getting radio support. Enough of the GP knows she has an album out, they simply aren't interested in it.

Her fans keep claiming SHE isn't interested anymore (as if that's an excuse), and if that's truly the case then why did she even bother to record this album in the first place? If she's not interested in working anymore, then she should retire.

she has sold millions of singles and album in the last 5 years with minimal promo

You all act like artists never have peaks and lower points in their career, look at Madonna. She had 3 consecutive albums not hit #1, and 2 of them had pretty low sales compared to her previous albums. The numbers aren't great by any means, but they aren't awful. You also act like other pop girls this year with massive promo and huge singles have pulled amazing 1st week sales when none of them could even touch 300k

Britney did less promo this era than she did for Femme Fatale, plus she also had 2 hit sings with that album. It's obvious the focus was on Vegas this era, and the album was pretty much just something for the fans. Y'all need to chill and enjoy the album!
