Anybody that thinks that TF/TFM Gaga was "her" is deluded. She was obviously playing a character. The whole "The Fame" era was a mockery about the fame.

Then she did her job just pretty damn good, she fooled you.
The Fame was as manufactured as you can get in pop but that doesn't mean it's a bad thing, it was a very good thing in pop and music in general. I bought into it just like I did with Lana's Born to Die era.
Gaga just needs to find the right mix of self control and label input. She's at her best when they mix her ideas/creativity with professional experience to polish it.
