Yep. I could see A Great Big World blowing up more on radio. But outside of Em/Rih & Ke$/Bull thats the only one out now that could challenged those two.

The current methodology works as applied to this particular video. The appeal is obviously in seeing an adult male lip and act it out with full faux passion but It's the whole song plus a direct parody of the video. How much more closely related to the original release can you get? Could he have done the same with another big current song? It doesn't matter because in our reality he did it with this one and people responded en masse.

Not sure why people are trying it on either end. It's blatantly obvious that TM will go #1 once the parody video effect dies down or the vid is released.
The fact that it was this close without a video is a testament to that fact.
I know that is like 95% confirmed that The Monster is #1 next week but I really, really hope that somehow Timber goes #1 next week because there will be SO MANY meltdowns from a certain stanbase (and ofc the fact that this time Ke$ha will be blocking Rihanna from the top spot )
I forgot to mention that Karma has been showing itself at its FINEST since the end of August - beginning of September untill present times so I hope that would help Timber as well
