Lorde's mum is apparently a famous poet. Although she claims she had never left New Zealand so I suppose if that's true she can't have been too wealthy.
Y'all are doing the most. Lorde's mother is a poet with a moderate profile in her home country and her dad is an engineer. Her mom receives a stipend of less than $40K per year. She may not have been dirt poor, but her family sure ain't rich or relevant. Hell, the bored kids in the middle to upper middle classes are the ones most likely to write/relate to a song like Royals anyway.
Lol, Robyn, it just looks stupid when she sings about a "torn-up town" when where she's from is doing pretty well, and she acts like she's struggling to get by in life, based on the song, when she goes to a rich/expensive school and lives in a decently wealthy suburb.
While both Lana and Lorde's music sounds the same (compared to their own stuff, I mean; individually, their songs sound identical to each other), Lana's can sound good at times ("Off to the Races", "Dark Paradise", "Without You"). Lorde just sounds stupid at all times. Her album sounded like the same song on repeat, except for "Team", which is the only good song she has.
