I guess so. They are easy enough in some cases but as a Pokemonster who isn't really into the battle scene and training and breeding for IVs and EVs it just puts me off.

I aint into IV breeding or EV training either, aint nobody got time for that. You should play Showdown, it's easier, quicker, tons of people on 24/7, it's just the place to go for competitive battles if you don't wanna face some 11 year olds trying to be cool.

I feel so intimidated by the meta-game. I was going to start building my team now that I've beaten the game but there is so much to consider... A proper balance of types, move sets, IV/EV training, natures, abilities, strategies like Trick Room teams. Not to mention the proper mix of Pokemon, walls, sweepers, cripplers... not to mention incorporating Pokemon I actually like.

As I've recommended to someone above, if you use Showdown then the training, breeding, natures and abilities you don't need to worry about. The competitive scene isn't that hard though, you could PM me with some ideas for your team and I can help you out

Okay so I got 5 Shiny Pumpkaboos today! And I have one evolved into a Gourgeist. If anyone wants it I will keep this post up for 10 minutes before deleting it! First one to reply gets it

They disabled rating battles because someone released a program that checks the information of Pokemon during a battle, giving the user an extreme advantage.

That battle hack thing is stupid tbh. Why would you want to know your opponents team? It takes the fun out of prediction and everything. I hope they don't do a patch that ruins me and I can't get shinies anymore
