Reality TV made Television better.

Not everything is Cosby Show, Full House, and Sienfield. I need to get my life to some Bad Girls Club, Real World, and more realistic shows.

Explain because I don't see it.

Soaps are pretty much dead. There are just a few sitcoms that have a strong hold on the ratings. MTV, Vh1 and all the other Viacom video stations have become about reality TV. TV is dominated by reality TV; I don't see how one could argue that.

Soap operas are dead, the family sitcoms are dead, Cartoon Comedies are dying, and I'm tired of watching these damn Law & Order type shows.

I forgot where that "golden age" quote came from, but it was said during the Emmy's sometime + had a slew of articles.

The Scandals, the Walking Deads, the Breaking Bads (it's done but), etc. all show how we're in a new TV revolution.

The corny family sitcoms have BEEN dead. It's now about the progressive sitcoms like HIMYM & Modern Family especially. All ratings magnates.

Cable is in a renaissance, though. Few critics would disagree that the 00s/10s represent the medium at its peak, at least as far as dramas go.

Reality TV will go down as one of the most iconic, if not - the most iconic format in Television for AWHILE.

The impact Jersey Shore, The Real World (early years), Survivor, Big Brother, Love & Hip Hop, Flavor of Love / I Love New York, etc have had on culture is underrated.
