I loved the X Factor performance. I'm very pleased with it.
They were all good, even Louis.
Harry's vocals The chorus is a very difficult part to sing. Each line of the chorus is belt after belt after belt. King H did very well in all things considered. He has just the right amount of rasp for it. Sure he was straining at parts, especially on the "frozen" part, but he made up for it in the second chorus imo.
A lot of singers change the key or the note or whatever when they sing live. Even vocal powerhouses like Kelly Clarkson and Adele.
But I understand why people only criticize him because all the other members had very easy parts.
I don't even think Zayn would be able to sing that chorus since he's mostly been whispering through his solos lately.
Liam couldn't even put the emphasis that was needed on "said her name was Georgia Rose" in BSE without his voice cracking. He can't belt like he used to. His voice isn't what it used to be as far as I'm concerned. Hopefully they give him some material to show me differently. I'm just really turned off by him butchering "Georgia Rose" every single performance
Niall's bit at the end was a slowed down more quiet version of the chorus so of course it was much more simple than Harry's parts.
Harry did seem to be trying hard, but I think he just wanted to give it his best. He's a very passionate chap
But of course harry's mic was the loudest. A true lead singer
All in all they all did great tho. They harmonized pretty well during the chorus too. It's actually one of my favorite performances from them in awhile.

All I heard was screeching and tone death, keyless screaming. They were on a singing show, for crying out loud.

And not you coming after Liam for butchering his two word verse on BSE when he'd slay the lead melody on the chorus talking loudly with some raspiness =/= singing.

And you hit the nail right on the head with that bolded part. The fact that it was such a short, simple solo is all the more embarassing

We will never know how Liam would do on that part so it's basically a moot point.
