I have been doing nothing but listenting to ARTPOP and The Art Of Letting Go for two weeks now and I love the album. I really, really do but I still have to kind of agree to what *****haus said. I would not consider it boring at all but to me there are two problems with this album.
1. As cohesive the themes and lyrics are and as well as one song kinda blends into next one – the album lacks an overall feeling. Taken for itself, each song is pure pop perfection (except for Mary Jane Holland which is kind of dull to me but that's my personal opinion and taste, so let's not debate on favorite tracks again) but all together as an album the songs fail to convey a sentiment of ARTPOP as an entirety. Unlike all of its predecessors: The Fame has its own feeling, the The Fame Monster does, and Born This Way does, too. I am sure many of you can relate to that and could describe how the entire album bestows a special feeling on you and what does it feel like to listen to these albums. But with ARTPOP I am unable to that. I don't feel the album.
2. To me, there is nothing much innovative about the album. With The Fame she resurrected dance/pop music and elevated the shallowness of mainstream music to the subject matter. And she even went further with her next albums. When I first heard The Fame Monster and Bad Romance in particular I was overwhelmed. Especially Bad Romance had something totally unheard. It was like she really did blast off to a new dimension of music. As catchy as all the songs were, all of her singles holded something daring – no matter if its Poker Face, Alejandro, Judas, or Yoü & I, they were different to what was on the radio. And with each single release I was surprised that even, let's say, convenient radio stations like the ones that my father listens to would actually play them. With ARTPOP, it's different. I think the reason why Applause became her biggest radio hit is because it's her most radio-friendly single ever. It's catchy as hell and an outstanding pop tune. So is the album, it's really well-produced, and it has its fresh moments but it's not on an innovative level as all the albums and the EP. I think Do What U Want is the perfect second single and one of the best, coolest songs she's ever done and I love the hot messes that are Fashion! and Donatella but yet they are simply not as overwhelming and iconic as Dance In The Dark or Paparazzi. They are not my favorites but I think they only really innovative songs on ARTPOP are Swine (with its outrage packed in a electro tune), Venus (with its kind of unfinished production), and especially Aura that melds Spanish (?) guitars, some Arabic character, and electro music, and mixes political and religious themes with almost sexy lyrics.
Just to clarify: I love Gaga and I've been stanning from the beginning. I went to every tour, I love every album, including ARTPOP. I love how proud she is of it, and I am really happy that she is so contented with the album and hew new artistic experiences. I am thankful for the new songs and Gypsy in particular which makes me feel alive each time I listen to it. And I'm aware that she is a human being not always able to outdo herself. And of course not every single song and every single performance can be like out of this world and push limits. But even as a stan, I feel like the album is missing some sentiment and innovation, and I believe that is (besides the gay and outcast thing) one reason why the GP is not worshipping her this era.
And now y'all come for me, I'm ready

No reason to come for you, you've made some really good points.
I do think ARTPOP has iconic songs but maybe you are right saying nothing NEW to the game.
I think she is trying to get away from the pure dancepop, I mean look at Sexxx Dreams, Manicure etc....but is still afraid to leave it completely as people expect her to still do it.

SCREAMING
I really love that song though. The lyrics + the prechorus + the self-assured strong lyrics complimenting the dark, almost depressing synths is just everything.
I mean, I aint trying to be "that guy" but I've never seen eye-to-eye with most of the fanbase. Lots of people said Monster should have been a single but the song sounds so sloppy and basic I can't deal. That was at the height of my Gaga obsession and even I skipped that song. I think I've maybe heard it like 5 times in full my whole life
DITD is another one that sounds sloppy, but the song itself is good.

Gaga's writing is still the strongest in BTW though. I mean, I would never guess the girl who wrote Bloody Mary was the girl who wrote Manicure and Venus.

Venus probably takes the cake for most cringe-worthy Gaga song tho. And that's saying a lot with Black Jesus, Hair, and Bad Kids in her catalog.

Those huge jumps is indication, of what promo can do.
I miss the days when she sang in festivals. Festivals are great promo and really are GP friendly

Disco Heaven
The Fame Monster:
Speechless
So Happy I Could Die
Telephone
Born This Way:
The Queen

Highway Unicorn
ARTPOP:
Jewels 'n Drugs
Aura
Donatella
