I haven't heard the DMB album but the other nominees are weak as well. Anyway, I doubt those were the best albums produced in 2010. I DOUBT.
My fave was also a nominee for 2012 AOTY in Adele's slayage year. I am not complaining, she deserved that award.  |
Right. Looking at the nominees that year (which was handpicked by the BRP based on a top 25 list), she had the best album in the lineup.
That lineup was pretty poor. The Black Eyed Peas's album sucked. I Am... Sasha Fierce is Beyonce's worst album and only got in because of the phenomenon that was "Single Ladies." Gaga had a good rookie year and the panel felt obligated to give her a big nomination because she couldn't compete for Best New Artist. The Dave Matthews Band got in due to sympathy. The album wasn't even that good. Taylor had a good mixture of critical support and commercial support. She was the obvious choice. It's called "Album of the Year," not "Best Album of the Year," and even then, not an album in that lineup represented either titles, but Taylor's was the closest thing to it.
