Album sales were better in 2010. Plus, Eminem had a big smash in "Not Afraid" and then "Love the Way You Lie" was taking off to be a big summer hit.
Slow and steady always wins the race. (Madonna, Pink, Beyonce, Shakira, Rihanna, etc.).
