So 1D's preorders are up to 200K, which is double ARTPOP's. Assuming they double Gaga's first week sales, the same way they double her preorder, that would mean a 520K opening week.
If they drop, say, 60% second week that's about 208K. We'll see if BJ can scan as much. Pre-orders are doing better than FF right now thanks to the snippets spreading around.

Just because it is true doesn't mean it isn't shady.

It's Black Friday weekend, so I think we can expect a larger drop.

I have a good feeling about BJ's opening week.
Hopefully we get that #1 with 200k+

One Direction is gonna do 550k and, if Eminem dropped 73%, they will drop at least the same thing, which means their 2nd week will be around 150k. If Britney can't top that, then she doesn't deserve to be #1 in freakin' DECEMBER anywayz.

I'm predicting 180k for Britney Jean tbh.

Well, they're doing the album and single some much-needed justice by releasing the video the week of the release. That's great promotion. And the album stream on the 25th and the iHeart radio premiere and the Vegas arrival thing, which will hopefully air on a big channel.

If Britney Jean sells above 150k, I think a #1 debut is safe. Anything less than that, I don't see it.

Femme Fatale reached the top ten on iTunes in preorders.

He's talking about where each album was on the iTunes chart at this point, not their peaks during pre-order time.

Well, there were rumors about Interscope not sending new copies of Eminem's album to the stores that were sold-out, but since we can't confirm such thing, we gotta work with what the official numbers tell us.
And One Direction did drop over 70% in 2012, I don't see how they wouldn't do the same now, especially since their album is being released on Thanksgiving week.

How many times do I need to keep saying this. ID are a fad boy band on their third album. If Em sold 210,000 copies in his second week, ID are going to do below 150,000 copies at least!
I think our biggest competition is Carrie Underwood, who's releasing a soundtrack album. Do those do good in the US compared relatively to studio albums? If so, then prepare for a block. America loves her, and her last album opened with 267,000 copies and sold twice as much as FF.

If Hunger Games soundtrack is barely doing 60k, Underwood's soundtrack album isn't gonna do any better than that, trust me.

A soundtrack album won't get as much exposure as a typical studio album, especially one like Blown Away, which had 2 big hits on Country and a successful string of promotional performances when it was out. I wouldn't worry about Carrie.

Soundtracks don't usually sell that well unless the movie is big. For example, The Great Gatsby was huge and its soundtrack sold 137k first week.
