Madonna was eviscerated because of Erotica, and also was blacklisted for pretty much giving the US the finger with American Life.
I don't think this is quite as big as those. It's not like Gaga insulted people ... People just don't care for her much anymore.

The GP despised Madonna during Erotica, it was all over the news. The GP right now just doesn't care about Gaga, and is literally unaware of her, and that's a huge difference. I mean...my parents literally hated Madonna during that time. I don't think the parents of Gaga stans even know or care who Lady Gaga is. Huge difference.
