This is downfall by design. She fought for creative control and she mostly got what she wanted. She works with a no name producer she discovered for the past two albums, she's not interested in being a single selling force. if she were she'd do what all the girls do and work with the best. It's telling that she worked with Will.i.am and Guetta for album tracks that will NEVER be singles. She doesn't want to overpay these hitmakers, she thinks she can make it without them. That remains to be seen, I think the tour will determine all. If she can do another 100m tour, nothing else matters. If her touring power fades I can't see Interscope pushing another album as hard as they've pushed ARTPOP to these lackluster results.

I would advice Gaga to get a bunch of hit producers but Katy managed to deliver a boring album (her album is quite underperforming for someone at her "peak" as well, it's just that no one bothers to mention her when ForbesGa is flopping) with just that. But then again, Fashion! is the best song on ARTPOP so more David Guetta & will.i.am on the next album please.

I think she's doing 230k, and is already #8 on iTunes. The drop will be way bigger than MDNA's.

Gaga knows working with "unknown" producers will give her sounds that aren't the same as everyone else and those are the artists/albums that always sell the most (the big hitmakers all work for singles artists), but she doesn't realize that a crappy song that doesn't sound like anything else (and that she probably thinks is so unique) doesn't make it good, lol.
Gaga simply isn't that talented when it comes to producing/creating good pop songs....in full. I don't think any of the other pop girls are either, obviously, but her ego is clearly out of control and she believes she's better than she actually is.
