No other releases this year are expected to eclipse Timberlake. One Direction’s Midnight Memories, out Nov. 25, is forecast to sell 500,000 its first week. Lady Gaga’s Artpop, out this week, is predicted to sell roughly 300,000. And Britney Spears’ Britney Jean, out Dec. 3, “won’t do anything close to these numbers,” Caulfield says.
They overestimated Gaga so hopefully One Direction, too.

He's predicting Gaga to sell 300,000 copies

I still have positive feelings of it doing a little over 300K... Even with artists that are bigger now and have bigger hits like Gaga and Katy doing worse than that...
302K and the Army will drag until we hit mid-2014 and the album will be yet to surpass 500k.

More likely than not, her fans overestimated the amount of preorders and said it was 100K, so I assumed it would do perhaps another 50K or 60K digitally on the release week for a 150K or 160K digital total. Which, according the usual 40% digital and 60% physical, would be around 350K - 375K.
She probably ended up doing 100K total digitally and her preorders were probably somewhere along 30K. I have NO idea how her fans overestimated them so much.

That's not exactly accurate anymore, at least not for "big" artists - See Eminem's album, which sold over 450k digital copies out of a 792k total. I believe nowadays it's more of a 50/50 situation, at the very least.

Thank God they didn't predict anything for Britney, since the trend seems to be "all the way down from here" lately.

Well, HDD did predict it would open worse than Femme Fatale.

I think first week sales will be 175-225k her fanbase has kinda shrunk too as people are fed up with her team. What if miley performs and is SMS and Britney performs with her?
Would y'all get pissed??

Keith Cauffield from Billboard said that, not HDD.

I'm glad we weren't out there predicting numbers for everyone
And we have the excuse if no hits anyways

But really... Imagine how much would we brag if it opens with 300K... Above all the other pop girls...
The Army would be dragging up and down

Eminem is a digital juggernaut. Well, he's an everything juggernaut. For Britney's last album, the 40%/60% applies so I would assume the same for BJ.

That is my prediction as well.
And I wouldn't be fed up if she performed with Miley if she BRINGS it and looks HOT. But I would be upset if it was the first performance of the era.

I think we should just lay low in here until the predictions come that week
At this point we should expect the unexpected

At least we have the no hits card and the barely no promo card.
But really, Britney could outdo her forecasts with one decent performance, remember how Circus outdid its early predictions with just one GMA performance, which was a really good one. It started at 350k-ish (I'm not quite sure) then moved up several times until it was "north 475k" and it ended up doing 505k.
BJ could start with 200K predictions, then move up until it hits "top 290K" and it sells 300K. WHICH WOULD BE SLAYING!
But hey, we are getting that Blackout 2.0 after all, including the #2 peak.

The Army has been very conservative with the BJ predictions. I remember the FF predictions thread (when I was a lurker) and people were throwing around 400K, 500K, and even 800K.

How much did legendout when it came out???
Wow, I had forgotten she sold that much with circus. Everyone was rooting for ha again and womanizer was doing amazing everywhere I miss that feeling
Remember the iconic... She's back!!!!
People like to trash the circus era but it really slayed>>>
And then circus(single) and video came out and
Ugh, 2008 was such a good year for the pop gorls.
Gaga exploded and was everywhere. Bey was Sasha fierce, Britney was the ringleader, rih was slaying with GGGB
Ahhh the memories.

Oh lol I'm glad we have been. After seeing the backfire on other fanbases
Is better to be surprised anyways as we are prepared for the worse and if is good then
800k
I remember I was expecting at least 375k.

Guys, guys, Britney Jean is not doing anything over 200k. We should be lucky if it manages to sell 200k, and that will be it. Sure, we could drag until the next millenium if it somehow outdid Katy, Miley and Gaga, but that's not gonna happen.
