Like i've said countless of times, she should never have released a dance song as the lead single. ESPECIALLY not an EDM song with no chorus and bitch all over it, WB has turned radio off Britney this era. What's happening is similar to the "Disco" backlash with several artists who did dance music in the past couple of years being paid dust by radio (Flo-Rida, Ke$ha, Britney, etc).
The only dance songs that are getting played are those by DJs and those with outside influences (WMU, Timber, etc).
I'd even go as far to say Ooh La La is also one of the reasons for her lack of support as well, that mess should've never released.
They should've followed Scream & Shout up with an urban single like they were hinting at earlier in the year.
And promotion won't change much when it comes to what radio decides to play, Perfume is looking to not even make the top 30 on Pop which is just a disaster. As far as radio goes, I don't see her scoring a single top 10 this era.
le sigh... so when mr telephone man and i pushed for toxic 2.0...
no they said
she needs to release a ballad they said
if wb didnt hit then how would another uptempo smash they said.
mark my words when that 5 cd sampler comes out next week we will most likely get at least one uptempo track that we will wonder why it wasnt chosen as the first or second single. rca better just call perfume a test to see if radio picks up on t and the DO WTF i say and release toxic 2.0 its not too late toxic didnt get relased until late december and then release perfume or another ballad. i mean during in the zone we all thought everytime was going to be second since she performed it and it even got airplay and they did a switch a roo...the need to do this now. since britney wants to talk about getting back to the dance well btch put out one of those smash uptempos and a dance videos and shelve perfume for 3rd like everytime. at least we dont have outtakes of the perfume video so theres little proof one exists.

I wonder why Pop abandoned her.
i think ppl are just ready for new blood...i feel rihanna getting hers in 2-3 yrs and katy in 4-5 yrs.
And the fact that she hasn't even shot a video yet.
Like what's the point anymore?
It'll be out when the song is already out of the top 50 on radio.
And personally, I said they should go with an urban song as the 2nd single BUT I wouldn't mind a ballad, the only thing I was against was another dance song.

Yes and no. I remember reading on a Billboard article that radio programmers were turned off by WB because as you said she repeats the word bitch so many times on it, and this pd basically was like: cmon britney, give us something we can actually play without having to censor it etc.
As MrTelephoneMan and Anthony are saying, Passenger should have been the follow up to Work Bitch, they would have played it because it has great lyrics, nice production and it's Britney at her best in a while. So, YES, the problem is Perfume
And the fact that she hasn't even shot a video yet.

Further proof that she and her team are focused on Vegas. I don't really have a problem with it, but it boggles my mind that they think releasing an album with no performances and just interviews will help sell tickets.
CAPTAIN LICIOUS, there are NO urban songs on Britney Jesus, build that bridge now
...and get over it.
As Anthony also touched on, Passenger is exactly the type of sound I have been wanting from her. And its also more believable coming from her, than EDM, Dance, and Urban would be these days. I can't remember the last time we were all so onboard with a Britney song, like we have been with Passenger. Speaks volumes really!
I never said I hated it, I even praised the song, and I adore it, but I said from the beginning a ballad as a follow up, when she just flopped, would be a huge mistake. I've seen it happen tine and time again, people think a ballad will save things, when all it does sometimes is make things worse. Especially since out of all the ballads she released only one was a legitimate hit.
People like Britney for her classic pop, when she releases straight up pop music she is at an advantage. She should have released an up-tempo, and just cause it is an up-tempo it doesn't mean it would be generic or safe. I said this back when I was like "NO ****ING BALLADS", and then some tried to use P!nk as an example of why a second single ballad would work, ala Try, but they failed to realize P!nk started out her era with what the public knows best about her, same ole pop/rock snarling "I'm a rock star" ish with Blow Me. She had goodwill going into her second single.
Passenger would have been a perfect follow up, it has been her most instant single with her fans, and non fans, and had a great feel good message. All a recipe for success.
Two flop radio songs in a row, isn't going to look good to radio programmers. She has an uphill battle from here on out. And where a song is at on iTunes has nothing to do with it, WB was still hanging on, and it was dropped faster than Artpops HDD predictions.
bravo.
i know telephone man doesnt like to acknowledge me but i will say this...i do remember the two of is being here for uptempo which i referred to it as toxic 2.0 and many were on louies sack about perfume and needing a ballad.
i like perfume and thinks its radio friendly but as i said:
wb buzz single
toxic 2.0
perfume benefiting from toxic 2.0 success seecing everytime realness
midtempo vibey chill song like heaven on earth state of grace perfect lover blur realness
ballad which wont last long but still
then rerelease in dec with a mid nov uptempo single and close with a ballad in march
if no rerelease then uptempo for fall and close with ballad.
seriously they need to let djs decide after that 5 song sampler to radio programmers is issued what uptempo song should be rush released the endo fo november or the directly on december 2nd.
theres still a slight chance this era can be saved.
Is it just me or is anyone else unfazed by all this? Like, I remember the week WB came out and being mortified at every red update that it got. I was a MESS. Checking Kworb all the time and being scared of the scalping.
But then Perfume came out and seeing it tumble out the top 100 didn't really bother me. I just bopped to the song and didn't really mind.
The next time I say "NO BALLADS" and you guys gang up on me, remember this
Lol.
I said a mid-tempo since her best eras always have a mid-tempo second single but "RadioFume" is considered a ballad right?
It still worries me that people think this album has any chance at debuting at #1. C'mon people, it's time to stop chartwatching and just enjoy the music.
And ditto to Ozzy. Is "PerfTomb" even still in the top 200?

Work Bitch made me strong to floppage!!
Are you sure PerFUME made you strong to floppage and not ARTPOP?
Does anyone else think that Britney's team are confused with the music climate of 2013? They don't know what's hot and can't decide whether they want to go the urban route or the EDM route or the ballad/midtempo/ROL route. I'm here for an album that mixes all these things together, but I feel like her team are confused.
Mess @ Louie not witnessing the rise and fall of Perfume
All of that in a span of 1 month
He will be back in time for the 3rd single
mess at us not being able to tell hm i told you so.

they just need to let programmers tell them which is the bigger hit of the five song sampler and release that to radio black friday week or december 2nd.
they still have time.

I genuinely don't care anymore, at this point I just hope she keeps popping singles and great videos for the next two years to support Vegas.
Also not bothered about BJ selling badly 1st week, but I do confess I'm gonna be crushed when I see it not debuting at #1.
bravo.

No, I remember. They were also equating uptempo = generic
I think we can all agree we wanted it to do well and hoped for the best. But it just was a stretch
