I think her main issue right now, & has been for 2 years, is her image & how the public perceives here. And obviously Applause didn't help since it's very polarizing outside the chorus & just an average single to the GP. She takes herself really seriously & I don't think people are finding her relatable at all. There's an element of fun that is no longer there. Her brand has become very niche & not universal, the opposite of what it used to be. I really think she should drop the "Monsters" thing & start addressing everyone.
Even though ARTPOP is full of fun records, I can see why people might still be turned off.
