As much as I want new music from Bey,I'm exteremely proud of her for not rushing to release new music despite the "floppage" of 4.
I also find it amazing that Bey's status appears to be at an all time high despite comming off her most underperforming era and with no top ten hits. The other girls could never!I just hope this upcoming era will be her biggest era ever.
I agree with you completely. The fact that it's been about 2.5 years since 4 came out and top tens is basically all the people around here can drag her for is extremely impressive. How many other popstars can not have had a top ten since 2010 and yet be more relevant than ever? I really believe she's entered legend territory and because she's still contemporary and culturally relevant, it isn't just the way that most legends are treated (with respect but not much interest). This is because while she is a popstar she truly is a popSTAR. Being the most popular doesn't make Beyonce what she is (although she always has immense popularity), it's having that star quality, that perfection at what she does. Most other pop girls have something.
The funny thing is for a long time everyone was saying that Beyonce needed to "go sit down and have a baby" and yet she did that and is bigger than ever.

True talk.some delusional haters and doubting fans thought that with the under performance of 4 and the birth of blue she'll fade, but the reverse has been the case.

Are there any singers we can think of that got bigger after a "flop"? This will be good to use during a drag if we can't think of many.
Any of the ones I can think of who managed to get bigger had to do reality tv, or a judge a tv show, and even then they just maintained their status, I don't think they grew.
Nothing like being asked to perform at the Super Bowl, embarking on a hit world tour or making record-breaking documentaries.
What ATRL doesn't realize (Or they do know it and it makes pressed therefor they go into denial) is that Beyonce's career does not revolve around getting top 10's anymore. She's already cemented herself as an iconic and doesn't need chart stats to validate herself anymore.

That what happens to mediocre "popstars/singers" who dont release a song in a half a year and get forgotten that they ever existed,b/c the next in line autotuned, lifeless, stiff product releases.
Bey stamped her name in the legendary/history books around the IASF era, even though most prayed to whoever would listen for her to fade away. She proved everybody shes here to stay and they will have to deal(atrl is hopeless in that department).I dont think many singers have been this successfull 16(17 in 2 months) years in their career. There are days im just shocked and overwhelmed that i stan for such a talent in every aspect possible,Im happy that she loves what she does and hasnt retired b/c ch...i dont know what i will do
Until we get the new single, the lyrics to I Care are strangely poignant for our situation:
I told you how you hurt me, baby
But you don't care
Now I'm crying and deserted, baby
But you don't care
Ain't nobody tell me this is love
When you're immune to all my pain
I need you to tell me this is love
You don't care. Well, that's okay
Well, I care
I know you don't care too much
But I still care (la la la la) baby (la la la la)
Oh, I care
I know you don't care too much
But I still care (la la la la) baby (ah) (la la la la)
Ever since you knew your power
You made me cry
And now everytime our love goes sour
You won't sympathize
You see these tears falling down to my ears
I swear you like when I'm in pain
I try to tell you all my fears
You still don't care. That's okay
Well, I care
I know you don't care too much
But I still care (la la la la) baby (la la la la)
Oh, I care
I know you don't care too much
But I still care (la la la la) baby (ah) (la la la la)
Boy, maybe if you cared enough
I wouldn't have to care so much
What happened to our trust?
Now you just givin' up
You used to be so in love
Now you don't care no more
Well, I care
I know you don't care too much
But I still care (la la la la) baby (la la la la)
Oh, I care
I know you don't care too much
But I still care (la la la la) baby (la la la la)
I still care
I still care
I still care (ah)

Lol.I've found myself playing this song a lot lately. It's now in contention for my best song on 4.
Wait!!!this is getting serious.God bless that woman's soul for bringing the attention of more people to one of the best song in Bey's discography.I hope she gets well soon.
Survivor has greater peaks than the other albums, but The Writing's On The Wall is a more cohesive, solid body of work. Destiny Fulfilled has GREAT bops too but I think some of the less interesting songs kinda ruin it. Their debut is kinda hit or miss though I occasionally use the album as a whole.
I can't choose a favorite song, but I think Bootylicious is their Single Ladies. It's simply iconic

the 2013 Beyonce tributes I can remember off the top of my head:
if anything good has come out of this long beyhydration it is the fact that the spotlight has been put on so many songs in Beyonce's back catalogue & people are appreciating her talents in tenfold like they never have before. I mean, these people are making news all around the world tributing Queen's forgettable, lacklustre, local, undeserving-of-17-grammys music. And she's inspiring so many people to dance as well, with her thigh shaking and weave tossing "dancing." Even some of the most global pop girls aren't getting this much attn for their chart-topping all around Europe the world music. i couldn't be prouder to have such a boring flop local fave.
