This whole 'feminist' thing is very confusing. I understand why Lorde thinks "Come & Get It" is an anti-feminist anthem. Because maybe she thinks Selena is objectifying herself to men by portraying herself as something other than a piece of meat? But at the same time, in the song Selena is saying she's not afraid to show her man her love. So shouldn't women be allowed to expressed themselves sexually?

I think it's the fact that Selena calls herself "it," thereby objectifying herself, though one could argue that it's just her cooch she's calling "it," which I guess would be an improvement

I'm not in as strong of agreement with Lorde on this one as I usually am but Selena's rebuttal is incredibly stupid and displays utter ignorance about what feminism is.

Well from my interpretation on the song. I'm pretty sure she's referring to her ~cooch.

But so far Lorde's criticism on female artists have been pretty shaky. She says Taylor Swift is unattainable and too flawless. But Taylor is far from that if she actually listen to her music. Which is why she's so relatable.

And there's her comments on Lana Del Rey in which she says her music is harmful for young girls. But I don't think there's nothing wrong with talking about relationships and the problems that go with that.
