Saying all the songs on Gaga's album sound the same is a bit of a lazy assessment.
I'm increasingly interested by how she appears to be imitating various different vocalists throughout the album. I first noticed it during the iTunes festival when the Kurt Cobain in the Swine chorus was unmistakable, but now it seems to be common throughout the album. Dope is a precise imitation of someone, I just can't put my finger on who.
Dope reminds me of Stevie Nicks or Janis Joplin kinda. I think that's what she was going for
I actually think Dope is becoming one of my favorite tracks on the album despite the awful lyrical theme. That pulsating electronic instrumental and those vocals really elevate it way past that abomination at the iTunes festival.
Britney fans on here and Exhale are the worst. It honestly shocks me that they STILL have meltdowns. It truly makes no sense. Like have you been out to lunch for the last 7 years?
Britney is what she is. She doesn't care about her career and she hasn't since 2004.
Her team keeps promising her most personal album, her Ray of Light. And ofc stans hope for the best.
Dope is a grower. I hated it the first time but I liked when she performed it. It's a very dark song. Her guttural singing takes some getting used to tho.Good thing she changed the lyrics from the I Wanna Be with You crap.
Very surprised the critics like it. I thought it'd be panned. I thought Venus & the Eurythmics homage Artpop would get more love.

I skipped it my first play through the album.
Maybe I was just so biased against it because of the iTunes performance. It's some good stuff.
I hate them too!!! They never promote even tho that is also Rihs fault and they don't push Rih hard enough to do her best because Unapologetic is a mess of an album and i won't stand for trash like that again
I WILL NOT

!!!!
I came in here just to post this. The lyrics are so good and somehow her vocals don't traumatize me anymore.
I've been playing more than most of the album lately.
I dunno why people found her vocals on "Dope" off-putting. "Dope" was so refreshing after I sat through the compressed noise that is "Mary Jane Holland"

Well, Dope is so much better than the I Wanna Be with You mess from Swinefest. Glad she changed the lyrics. Her recent Gypsy performance also did not do that song justice.
