Honestly, i cant really get into G.U.Y.
I mean its a nice bop to me but thats kinda it. It reminds me a lot of Love Game, which is one of my least favorite Gaga tracks in general.
I am however, rooting for it become a single. 3rd or 4th single to be exact. I think the girls and geys will live for it.

And you're totally right, except I feel like she abandoned that whole "pulled back and chic" aesthetic already (her stylist's words, to be fair).
I've liked all the visuals so far this era but I wish they were more consistent! All the photos with I&V are AMAZING, serving either elegance, minimalism, and futuristic/tech stuff (the original mask pic, the chair pic, etc), or at least slick, simpler stuff (the grass bodysuit, Dope cover, prosthetic arm). But she's already reverting to a lot of her old tricks, like they're training wheels.
Doesn't she realize the relative simplicity of the BR video is what makes it so attractive?
Even though I'm afraid of the DWUW video just being one big ****o with Terry in the director's chair, I actually really love the general aesthetic of Wrecking Ball. I'm hoping he brings that to the video. |
I agree with everything. 
I love how clean the music on this record is, and the whole white simplistic thing went perfect with songs like DWUW and Swine.
When I saw the mask pic for the first time I thought that this era was going to be futuristic, almost hospital like, but then the Applause video and album cover came.
Ofcourse the music made up for everything, it's amazing, but so far I haven't really felt a connection or like you said consistency between all the imagery.

I still can't believe how flawlessly this era had started, like the bitch got me on my toes from August to the Swine fest.
Then that horrible Applause-Dorothy performance on GMA kicked in and just like that we got one underwhelming performance after another. Like the mess kicked in earlier than during the BTW era, which was flawless until that horrible Hellen performance and the TEOG mess. History repeats itself it seems.
Gaga I love you, you're one fierce bitch for keeping me staning for you cause the music is here and GUY just makes my body and brains shake unwillingly, but this mess about controling everything and doing horrible *****ry with everything starting with singles choices, going through MV artistic direction to those horrible performances is killing me.
Horrible to think that any song from any of those lessors slaying Gaga currently on ITunes would pale in comparsion of a well handled single release for G.U.Y or Gypsy, like with any of those two songs she could just like that snap those bitches' careers.
But no she has to prove that she is a true artist dedicated to a fanbase who would not make her number one on ITunes and which did not even know what ITunes was before the Swinefest or which trends topic like #ComeToMyFlopCountry on tour but would not buy the tickets for the tour.
Yes Gaga keep on making Venus, Dope or your puppy barking sounds singles and keep underpeforming while you could just be slaying our souls. But hey you'll have proved youre a real artist, just like Cindy Lauper and Prince proved it, while Madonna and Michael Jackson were none right ?!
And yes I'm pressed as f*ck right now !
