Donatella was not, is not, and most importantly WILL NOT be a single. It will be forgotten in the trash bins of ARTPOP buyers around the world, while Applause remains a single, a success, and the first single that everyone is still bopping to. One will be forgotten in the garbage bin along with Fashion! and Swine, while Applause will always be the first single.
Live with that reality my dear.

I mean of course it's all together but the specific lyric isn't bad at all.
For eg. Donatella is iconic because of the beat, the breakdown and the legendary chorus including its lyrics. The verses though? I skip the second verse everytime someone's around.. It's so embarassing.

But are we forgetting that "Applause" is God awful and you would be stanning for "Donatella" if it and "Applause" had changed places, regardless of their actual content?
One is fierce, about a woman who runs one of the best designer labels, and has a killer instrumental.
The other is clownish, stupid, and almost a self-parody.

Gaga never makes the best songs on an album a single. Just ask "Monster", "Dance In the Dark", "Paper Gangsta", "Boys Boys Boys", "Scheiße", "Heavy Metal Lover", "Bloody Mary" and "Government Hooker".

In reality though, even "Applause", while being an A track on the album is NOTHING in comparison to "Gypsy", "Sexxx Dreams", "Do What U Want", and "G.U.Y".
