I know and it's very good on him, or any Pokemon for that matter, because of the momentum it gets you. I'm just afraid that if I let go a valuable coverage move he'll get walled by everyone.

For example, if I don't use HP Fire - Ferrothorn destroys him. If I don't use Ice Beam, it can't get past Dragons or other Water types (well with HP Fire it can't either). Without Grass Knot it doesn't hit Water types, but I don't like it very much because Rotom-W takes pitiful damage from it anyway. Extrasensory is good for Tentacruel and Venusaur. Dark Pulse is good for Ghosts and Starmie etc.

Idk what to do.

I think it depends too much on the team itself. I should choose based purely on what the team doesn't cover and use that to support it.

MESS. I'm just gonna breed a Naive one with HP Fire and be done with it.

Don't worry. As you get use to fishing. Getting to 40 should take around 30 minutes if not less. I remember breaking a chain at 191 but just decided to try again.
Poor Basculin, already getting mistreated by you when you still haven't encountered it.

I'm at 54 now I'm also using that Counter app and it's great but I hate how easy it is to slip onto another counter screen. All I want is a shiny Dragonair I'm about to just not keep count at all and just endlessly chain here until I see that elegant purple worm.
