It's funny to me how Little Monsters always say that Gaga is her own artist, making art for herself and that's why she's the best, yet when she releases a song that is far removed from the electro pop that's the norm on radio, they are the first ones to lash out at her.
It's quite frustrating to see so many people simply not getting "Dope". It's meant to be a raw, unpretty song. Don't people understand that? It's not meant to be a slick, perfect ballad. It's meant to sound real, rough and raw. It is NOT meant to be a basic, lovey-dovey ballad.
It completely succeeds.
Just because it was meant to be trash, doesn't excuse the fact that it's a bad song.
Gaga totally won me back with this album!
Only track I don't like that much is Mary Jane Holland, but it's still better than some fillers on BTW.
And I don't get the hate for Dope tbh, it's one of my favorite tracks on the album

It's just the same 4-5 geys that can't seem to move on from their dislike of the song and need to express it through hundreds of post.
It's odd that Gaga worked with David Guetta since he shaded BTW. If she wanted to work with producers who've shaded her, she could've brought in the good sis Calvin Harris. Bring back Rob Fusari, while we're at it.

Dope was not intended to sound like "trash". It was meant to sound raw and emotional. It's not a Celine Dion ballad. This is f**king art. I'm guessing that concept is a little much for you though. Stick to basic songs if that's all you can cope with.

He didn't really shade her. He praised her as an artist but said he was dissapointed with BTW and that they've been trying to work together but havent got the chance.
It does seem funny that in the album credits she only says thanks to Will I Am and not Guetta.
