The production was, for the most part, ****. If you're looking at this from a mainstream pop point of view, though, it's pretty good overall.

On first listen this sounds incredibly uninspired and bland to me.

My thought as well, especially Manicure. I was stoked for that song after the live version but the album version majorly disappoints. I was listening to some of her earlier stuff and it just further highlights how 'off' everything about this is. There's something missing, I can't quite place what it is, but I hope it comes back. Though, with genuinely great releases from Katy Perry, Lana Del Rey, and Marina & The Diamonds (Electra Heart has its flaws but is definitely more good than bad), she's not the most interesting person on the pop scene anymore, so maybe I should just stop caring about what her future brings. I was just so invested in the idea that she was the next big thing, I think a lot of people were, that it's awkward and sad to see her blowing it.
Gypsy is nice, that horrible live performance did NOT do it justice.
True. I thought it was her worst ballad ever when she performed it live (and she has plenty of bad ballads so there was competition for that title) but the album version saved it

The third one is so cringe worthy I know it's a matter of opinions but people are so hypocritical when it comes to Gaga. Sadly the shadow of her past overratedness will always haunt her.
