Fun (??) fact: There were nine new nationwide releases in October. GRAVITY earned $206 million. The other eight combined? $204 million.
Not him doing it as a "fun fact." The unintended JL shade.
L+T: Has writing for major artists like Alicia Keys, Brandy, Trey Songz, etc influenced you as an artist?
Sevyn: Absolutely. The one thing that I took from Alicia that I will carry with me for the rest of my life – she just has this spirit about her. It’s just the feeling that I wish she would just bottle up and sell. It’s this amazing thing. When she writes she just cares so much about what she writes. She’s just very passionate, but even though she cares it doesn’t come off like she’s stressing. You know what I mean? A lot of us will over-think a line and I just never get that vibe from her. It’s very pure. We’re just creating music. If you don’t like that line you can just erase it and make up another one. Just like the vibe she carries with her I wish she would just bottle it up and just sell it, because I took some of that while I was with her and it has helped me in many sessions. I just try to keep that with me as much as I can.
Can't wait to hear her "compliment" Bey when she writes for her
IMHO, Aaliyah is the single most important urban act of the last 20 years.
You can see Aaliyah's influence in ALL of these urban girls.
Jhené. Cassie. Sevyn Streeter. Zendaya. Rihanna. Kat Graham. Sabi (that song was a knock).
Her legacy will live on through these females
It just makes me impressed how Kyary maintains her weird, crazy wardrobe without losing the interest of her public and even the international jpop fans...she could teach one thing or two to Gagz....
This is the worst song i've ever heard in my life.
I'd rather see Katy swinging her **** and doing a proper two step while lipping than hear her yodel and watch her arms swing/feet tap. Let me start a petition à la Ka$hb0b stans.
