The fact that Nathan solely produced Speak Now (with Taylor) makes me respect him very very much. Such a brilliant musician around.
tbh I didn't find Nathan to be a spectacular producer back then. Some of his stuff were pretty formulaic and there's always that extremely polished feel which isn't always good.

I agRIH. For the bolded part, blame Justin Niebank, the dude who did the mixing. Nathan bae recorded Her vocals via analog and no edit. But the ugly sister Justin insisted to edit them and cut all the vocal flaws.

Lies spotted. Her vocal flaws are very audible. It's quite the opposite actually; sometimes I wonder why they don't edit some of them. Sometimes she audibly loses breath or strains a bit and they do not edit it, like on Haunted for example.

I really thought I would be upset when ever Taylor cut off all of her hair, but it just looks so gorgeous . Hopefully next era she will lose the clown make-up as well, instead have a more natural look.

I was thinking about it today. I remember her saying she wanted it shorter, we'll see.

If you want true Preach Now era vocals, just go listen to the live CD, and you'll realise how much Justin edited the vocals. And no. I'll still take messy vocal performance over 'good' edited vocals. Not here for fakey-fakey.
Anybody here that has been in a physical/ emotional/ abusive relationship?!
Sadly, yes. It has been almost a year but I'm still recovering from it...

All the lyrics explain our story so perfectly
I was so vulnerable at the time I met him, and he made me crazy in a better kind of way.

Doesn't that flop understand that the Lord's flaws are what make Her so great

I was listening to some of the SNWTLive songs last night and it reminded me why I'm glad they fix up Her vocals in the studio. I Justin.
“What I go through is going to be the story that I tell,” she said. “I think lyrically I always try to tell my fans exactly what’s happened to me in the last two years and that’s thing they can expect.”
God, seriously, I don't want to hear a song about that muppet.

Interviewer: The new album, you want to take a different path. Will it still be personal the way we’ve gotten used to?
Taylor: What I go through is going to be the story that I tell, I think lyrically I always try to tell my fans exactly what’s happened to me in the last two years and that’s the thing they can expect. Everything else, they won’t be able to expect. Having been in the studio with this one, I’m just like ‘oh this is going to be fun!’
