Performing isn't about choreo or vocals. Dancing is about choreo. Singing is about vocals. Performing, in the music world, is about setting a high energy atmosphere where the crowd loses themselves in the spectacle. Hence why rappers like Jay-Z and Kanye are good "performers" despite having never danced or belting out a C5 for 30 secs.
