n@people saying China/Japan are ahead in technology.
USA has always been gaining since the Industrial Revolution, and took huge strides in front of everyone since WW2.
China is only "catching up" because of US's inventions.

Some of y'all Americans are embarrassing yourself with the tired ass ''if you hate America then stop using our computers, our phones, our systems etc.'' There's a billion of other things made and invented by other countries which Americans use on the daily. So there's no reason to be saying stuff like that.
Y'all are so annoyingly proud of the US with no reason whatsoever. With all the respect, I would be ashamed to be living in such a corrupt country.

Probably because the US - a nation which dominated the 20th century both economically, politically and culturally - could have used its money to stop poverty, to make the world a better place, but instead it went on an egotistical mission to Americanize the world.
Anyway, whatever country is the current superpower people will hate. Soon it may well be China, then India. And they won't be any better. And the British were even worse than the Americans. After all, power corrupts.

I am so done with honestly every single person on this site having absolutely no idea what they are talking about when it comes to economics/governmental policies etc. First, I'm going to address the "richest country debate". If the United States were to default on its debt, the entire European economic system would collapse. Every single government in the European Union would have absolutely no money and all the banks would shut down. The same goes for China. In terms of raw materials, service sector revenues and other imports and exports, the United States is by far the richest nation in the world. Don't confuse per capita with total wealth. Second, all of you saying how much more "freedom" you country has compared to the US is laughable. Don't get socialism confused with freedom. Universal Healthcare IS NOT FREEDOM. Most of the countries you are referring to, have huge governments that micromanage many aspects of their citizens' lives. The United States is sadly following that same path.. Third, please stop painting the US as war hungry savages. If it weren't for the US. The world would have plunged into either a fascist or communist nightmare. Both World Wars were won thanks to US support. All of you are complaining about how the US is always invading other countries with our own selfish efforts but never mention how much aid the US gives to so many countries around the world during periods of crisis. Finally, while there are many other countries that also have made amazing technological advancements, the US still is the most impressive where it really counts. Advancements in medicine achieved in America have been unprecedented and miraculous. While many Asian computing companies are advancing in technologies rapidly, it is usually companies in the US who will introduce something revolutionary to the technological space. Concluding on this, I just cannot stand seeing people throwing around hatred and statements that are completely false. I agree that the US make many mistakes and is not the messiah of nations, but nobody can deny its economic and social presence.
