Just because its different to what you personally listen to on the regular doesn't make it unique nor does it make it the perfect single choice. In the same vein as what you said, DWUW isn't exactly safe for her either considering a song with an R&B-esque vibe is out of line for her as a single choice.
I'm not saying I don't like Venus. I just don't think its as good as DWUW and therefore i'm glad it was replaced. If it were to have been released reception would have been mixed but it seems like most monsters get off on having everyone else think something she does is bad. It makes some of you feel unique I guess, like you understand something they don't. Thats my theory anyway.

Nope. I think DWUW is better and im hardly a "safe" stan whatever that even means. Sheisse was not a risk by the way, it was one of the most blatantly commercial songs on that record which is why it was odd that it wasn't released.
Venus is still candy pop. Judas was not ahead of its time. Honestly, monster logic makes me ****ing face palm
