It's not really the label's fault. She records bad and/or uncommercial music. The label isn't left with much to choose from. But still, even out of the bad and/or uncommercial songs we've heard so far, Penus is the worst.

I'm kinda starting to think Swinefest kinda diminished the excitement for new tracks. If we got Sexxx Dreams snippets right now (or if it was the second single or something) it'd be much more exciting. DWUW should do really well on radio though so oh well!

DWUW SCREAMS Interscope to me, if that makes sense.
She makes whatever type of music she wants, clearly. But single choices aren't down to her, she works for Interscope and they make decisions based on what can make them the most money.
It was clear from the very beginning this whole Bionic massacre mess has been set up by Stefani and Interscope to get her in the headlines. They used her merely as a promotion ventil and she [Legend] played them right into their arms with the Madonna-hommage influenced NMT video. That was the moment when I realized how sick people in this biz were. They really stop at nothing and make the lowest effort to get their up and coming artists out there.
