I think they should not even release the video for Venus. Just wait until it is officially released as the third single or right before Christmas as a promo video so she can get them sales.
I don't think it's a bad idea/choice or even messy at all to make DWUW single #2. Great reception. Crossover appeal. And the GP isn't hyped for Venus.
what IS messy is them still releasing Venus as a promo single next week... it could overshadow DWUW. And making it even more messy, they'll be releasing the video of it sometime soon... they should save it, because now Venus can't really be a single on its own, and obviously if it was good enough for single #2, why not release it as 3, or four? THAT is a mess.

plus she's heading to Europe, so I feel like she'll do promo there. The US won't have anything until SNL probably.

can we seriously get a petition to get gaga/interscope to not release venus song/ venus video/dope song? i know you're all thirsting for new music, but its too messy now. it's gonna be a major cluster***** of music in too short a span of time. if gaga is so deadset on teasing new music for promo, then the superior option is to release a 1:30 sample of dope and of venus before the album stream and call it a day.

That's not it. Many people would have preferred another was the second single, doesn't mean they're trashing the song or they're fake stanning.
I got the impression that people felt that DWUW was going to overshadow venus. But now that DWUW is the second single, people think that Venus is going to overshadow DWUW. In a sense it's a slight bit messy , all they have to do is keep Venus shelved for a bit until the 4th really. But I don't mind getting the song on the 27th anyway. More music for us.
Personally I think what's MORE of a mess is releasing Dope on the 4th when the album is going to be streamed that day anyway what's the point?

girl bye. the reason other girls smash so effortlessly is because there's a thought out strategy/plan to their releases. interscope goes with the flow and thats what jacked up the BTW era, and could possibly happen in the same way to ARTPOP. deal with it
