But... we don't know how people will like "Venus" whereas this already has a ton of positive reception. Plus, the promo lined up specifically "Venus" was one thing at most aside from a video. It will be relatively easy for them to just do DWUW instead, and as you said "Venus" will be a hit later anyway if it's meant to be one.

But why would they release "Venus" fully yet, anymore?

This "first day rush and hype" is a good thing because it's based on the song legitimately being great, and it's performing more strongly than "Applause" did in its first few days.

So? Promo singles happen. It won't be added to radio yet and the video never had a solid release date. "Venus" can simply become an official single later on down the road.

Good decision. The bridge lyrics ALONE already decided that Venus was not going to be well received by the GP.

And as far as the GP is concerned, they though DWUW was the next single anyway.
