-it doesn't sound like drakes song just because theres an R&B undertone
-it works just as well in the fall/winter as it would in the summer. if anything summer deserves a pulsating club banger
-it was received positively by both the critics and the public. that makes it a smart choice by default.

That's still miles better than "serve it for the Gods."

I'm not exactly sure how to feel about this.
On one hand, I am so HAPPY because DWUW is amazing and fresh coming from Gaga. The GP loves it and I think it has potential to be her biggest radio hit since Rhythmic should definitely support this.
On the other hand, I feel that they should probably wait until Venus was released on iTunes because what if it does better than DWUW on iTunes? Like, would they switch it back to Venus? That would just mess things up.

Its really surprising how her team/label can be so insecure. I would have thought they took this long to plan out the strategy for the release immaculately this time. This move sounds risky. But it could pay off. We will see.

I had a feeling they might do this. Good song and it's doing well so why not. I just hope Venus wouldn't have done as well.

I wouldn't call them insecure, lmao. They were surprised by the positive response and decided to take advantage of the situation.

but what if Venus ends up being really good
they should have waited to see how the public liked Venus before making this decision

They were surprised? Its just shows how out of touch they are. Its a surefire hit. 99% people saw it right away. Would have made a great lead single. Maybe they decided against it because it not her solo song? Idk.

I think she's better to leave Venus completely unknown to the public at this point. No need to confuse the poor souls.

DWUW is really GP friendly with the R&B sex theme but the last time promo single suddenly made offical happened it wasn't so great... So Venus will still have the video released while it's a promo single? I'm still exicted for this

Well it's the most stupid decision ever. All the promo she had planned for Venus, the already shot muppets etc. Plus, if DWUW is meant to be a hit it will be as a second a single or as a fifth single. Now,what if Venus ends up selling more than DWUW on Monday? What are they gonna do? I mean really, they're absolutely stupid. Give Venus a chance.
Of course, if Venus is meant to be hit it will be no matter when, but everything was planned for it as a single; promo, video etc. OMG this is so stupid. Such a terrible mess. Sorry gags, but your marketing team/Interscope is freaking AWFUL.

The only thing bad is the Muppets thing (And is it even confirmed she didn't sing it with them?) Everything else can be changed last minute, Video, performances, other promo, etc. It won't be easy, but its doable. And I don't think the Muppets thing will affect the sales that much anyway, so that's not a huge deal either. Everything might be rushed, but it won't all be bad.

Would people with this opinion including yourself please be quiet. Interscope didn't just do this randomly they know what the **** they are doing. That's why they're working for Interscope and not giving their flop opinions on a music board

Her team cannot recognize hits sometimes since DWUW and TEOG were intended as promo singles only

this is why you don't try to release a 2nd single while also releasing a bunch of promo singles
gaga should have done all the promo singles, and then, based off which did the best, sent one to radio the week after artpop
