Anyway, I'll be happy to support this single. It's Gaga's most accessible one since "The Edge Of Glory". I even think it's a strong enough song to go without music video support (if the market was still old-fashioned).

Isn't it speculated Jimmy pushed for Applause? Of course Gaga loves her music and is in more control than others but it's likely there was a conversation without Gaga about going with this song, then with her agreeing. They are the ones who have the more in depth access to how a track is performing with radio programmers and obviously the raw sales data.

Right, shes a pop star and they have teams. But you're sort of missing the point, at the end of the day she made the song and she loves the record. There are people acting as if this is becoming the single because of corporate and going against her artistic integrity when in reality im sure she loves this **** as much as Venus and either way shes down. Its her music and she said herself she was proud of this record.
