I admit I stopped stalking her news updates in 2007 because I was afraid that one day it'd be a really, really bad update. The rag mag that said they had her obituary written was the scariest thing. I still loved her but it would have been too much if that news had even happened. Thank god it never did.

I've always been a fan though...even in like 2007 I would bop to the Blackout singles (I was young so I didn't really care for albums)
I did once during that time after her Britney album. But that was only because Britney wasn't allowed in my house, and my parents took away her CDs because she was too sexual and a bad influence. Apparently, I wasn't the only one. Since other kids in my school were not allowed to listen to her.
So I listened to Avril, and others in that whole pop rock scene in the mid 2000s. The Britney backlash during that time was ruthless.
Really? The head shaving in 2007? The VMAs? The revolving rehab stints and custody battles?
I've always thought February 2007 - January 2008 was the worst. There were little bits of clarity but it seemed like a vacuum sucking her down into disaster. How she was able to bounce back with Circus is miracle. A Britmas miracle.

Mess...my parents didn't really care about her lyrics because my dad is foreign and they're not as uptight about that kinda stuff but my mom did take away my OIDIA cd because she didn't want me exposed to girly things she tried

I didn't become a stan till 04 but was always a fan and I remember my sister always calling her nasty and hating on her because of the Slave video.
